Applications include turning parts with many different diameters, complicated profiles and grooves, replacing the need for several standard and special tools with a single Seco MDT. . The unique insert clamping method Secoloc — combines a V-shaped top clamp with serrated contact surfaces between the underside of the insert and the toolholder for superb stability. The relatively long insert also increases stability. MDT is available also in combination with Jetstream Tooling®, a high-pressure cooling system directing coolant supply to the cutting edge.

Optimized for parting-off applications, the Seco 150.10a is a high-speed steel blade that holds the insert. This provides maximum stability, while the hot strength of the high-speed steel ensures the insert will be securely retained especially when the blade is hot. 150.10 is also available in combination with Jetstream Tooling® Duo, a high-pressure cooling system that provides directed coolant to the cutting edge by two streams to rake and clearance surfaces.
